Berry's Praying Angel Tutorial

This tutorial is written in and for PSP Version 7.04 and assumes you have a working knowledge of PSP. I am sure this can easily be done in other versions with path modifications. 

For this tutorial you will need:   30 day trial

And you will also need the free Eye Candy 3.1 for Windows or Mac 
which you can download from  Tutorials by Joyce
Here are  two pattern swatches. Open them your PSP program.


Save the selections to your selections folder in PSP. (Or open them to your workspace in psp7.   You can download them here.

Ok, here we go. 

Remember, My color selections are just guides. If you want to use other colors or patterns, by all means do! If not the first time, do it again and use something different the second time.


First let me say SAVE OFTEN!!
Most of all.. have fun and if you have problems, feel free to email me.

After your "first save" as a .psp file, you can use ctrl-s often to resave.
I like to save on each layer at least.   I find that easier to remember to do. :o) [And I do not merge layers as I go so I can go back and change if I want later.]

 

open new image 615x715 transparent 16.7 million colors (24bit) 
[you can reduce when you’re done.]

Make new layer name it CLOUD
open Selections/load from disk/sb-angel-clouds.sel
fill with paintbrush and color black
deselect

click magic wand inside cloud and flood fill with cloud color = #EBE7E7
choose selections/float
use effects/3d/cutout with these settings:

effects/texture/fine leather


deselect

save as angel.psp

new layer name it WINGS
open selections/load from disk/sb-angel-wings.sel
Using paintbrush, fill with black
deselect

with magic wand (holding the shift key down) click inside both wings
flood fill with style pattern small08
scale 100 angle 0
choose selections/float
use effects/3d/cutout with these settings:


repeat changing h&v to plus 3
deselect

ctrl-S

new layer name it GOWN
open selections/load from disk/sb-angel-gown.sel
Using paintbrush, fill with black
deselect

with magic wand (holding the shift key down) click inside each section of gown
(you may want to enlarge the image or turn 
off the visible images to see better for this)
using paintbrush, fill with style pattern assort04  
scale 229 angle 358
(or pattern or color of your choice).
Effects textures/inner bevel/ 


Deselect

open a new layer name it NECK
open selections/load from disk/sb-angel-neck.sel
flood fill with black - selections modify contract 2
flood fill with #F4DBA7
Use effects/3d/inner bevel with same settings except change the angle to zero (0)
deselect

ctrl-S

new layer name it LEGS
open selections/load from disk/sb-angel-legs.sel
flood fill with black
deselect

with magic wand click in both feet holding down shift key
flood fill with #EAD2A0
choose selections/float
Use effects/3d/inner bevel with same settings
deselect
ctrl-S

new layer name it ARMS
open selections/load from disk/sb-angel-arms.sel
flood fill with black
Use selections/modify contract 2/
flood fill with #EAD2A0
choose selections/float
Use effects/3d/inner bevel with same settings
